Our review
Morakniv is best known for bushcraft knives, and its fillet knife has the same no-nonsense approach. The 155 mm (6.1-inch) blade is Sandvik 12C27, a Swedish stainless steel known for taking a very keen edge and resisting rust. It's 1.9 mm thick, and the whole knife is 10.6 inches long.
The polymer handle has a soft friction grip and a finger guard, and it doesn't absorb fishy odors. The easy-to-clean plastic sheath has a detachable belt clip and a belt loop. With the sheath it weighs just 3.5 oz, so it's easy to carry on a riverbank or kayak.
It's one of the highest-rated knives we cover on Amazon (4.8 out of 5 when we checked).
Like other 6-inch knives, it is built for trout, perch, bass and similar fish. For salmon and larger saltwater fish, step up to a 9-inch blade.
Is the blade the right size?
