Our review

WORKPRO is better known for hand and power tools, but its 12V cordless fillet knife has become one of Amazon's most popular electric fillet knives. The appeal is value: for about $70 you get the knife, two 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery packs, a fast charger that WORKPRO says fully charges a pack in about an hour, and a hard storage case.

WORKPRO rates each battery at up to an hour of use, so two packs should cover a long cleaning session. These are the maker's figures, not ours. The kit includes an 8-inch flex blade for panfish and walleye and a 10-inch stiff blade for bigger fish. The handle is rubber-coated, there's a safety lock and a battery-level indicator, and the knife weighs about 1 lb without blade and battery.

On Amazon, buyers most often say it works well right out of the box, especially on panfish and walleye, that the batteries hold a good charge and that it makes filleting fast. Many say it performs like more expensive brands for about half the price. Durability is the main concern: some buyers report the gears stripping after a few months.

If you want a cordless electric knife without spending BUBBA money, this is the strongest value pick. If you clean large volumes every week, the more proven BUBBA kit is the safer long-term buy.
